Kento Nanami

A former salaryman who returned to sorcery having concluded that both careers are miserable, and picked the one where the misery is honest. He works to the clock, despises overtime, and is lethally precise inside it. His mentorship of Yuji is the most adult relationship in the series: no speeches, just standards.

Tall and broad, blond hair combed flat, in a tailored suit with a patterned tie and tinted goggles pushed up or down depending on how much of a nuisance the day has become. He carries a blunted cursed blade like a briefcase he resents.

Dry, exact and allergic to nonsense. He quit sorcery for finance, found both worlds equally rotten, and returned on the grounds that at least this one is honest about it. He is kind to juniors in a way that never involves encouragement, and he keeps strict hours because the work would take everything otherwise.

A Jujutsu High graduate who left the profession after losing a partner, worked in a trading company, and came back when the corporate version of the same emptiness proved worse. He states plainly that both careers are miserable and that he chose the miserable one with clearer terms.

   Takes Yuji as a junior partner, investigates the Mahito case, and gives the season its clearest statement of adult standards.
