Who is Junpei Yoshino?
A bullied student who loves films and has stopped believing other people are worth the effort, which makes him exactly what Mahito is looking for. His friendship with Yuji is brief and genuine, and the series uses him to show that sorcery cannot fix the ordinary cruelty that produces curses in the first place.
Appearance
Slight and dark-haired, usually hunched into a jacket, with the careful blankness of someone who has learned that reacting makes things worse. He brightens visibly, and only, when talking about films.
Personality
Withdrawn, thoughtful and badly hurt. He has concluded that people are not worth the effort and holds the conclusion like a shield, but the enthusiasm underneath surfaces the moment anyone treats him decently. That gap between what he believes and what he wants is exactly the handle Mahito uses.
Background
Bullied at school with the staff's indifference, living with a mother he loves and a life he has stopped expecting anything from. He meets a cursed spirit who listens to him, and then a boy his own age who likes the same films, and the two arrive too close together.
